Film Director
Using the script and creative vision, the director facilitates the process of the script unfolding into a complete film. The director makes creative decisions through collaboration with cast, crew and the producing unit that bring the script to life on screen. The director is storyteller in collaboration with other storytellers, each holding a particular space (role and responsibilities) for the ceremony that takes place at each stage of the filmmaking process.

Ideally, the director has skill, experience and a vision in every area and every department of the filmmaking process. However, each artist within THEIR role is likely to have specialized skills and experience related to actualizing the vision that the director has and holds space as leader/elder in actualizing the directors vision. We imagine it like a person standing at a vantage point with a large purview in collaboration with people standing at various points within that same landscape and therefore able to see even more detail than the director.
